*In an effort to consolidate public health functions for Denver, many public health programs including COVID-19 disease surveillance are set to be transferred to the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) on September 30, 2021. At that time, all COVID-19 data for cases, hospitalizations, deaths, and testing will be removed from this page. The Public Health Institute at Denver Health (formerly Denver Public Health) will continue to provide data and surveillance for COVID-19 vaccinations through December of 2021.*
People experiencing homelessness are often at increased risk of contracting COVID-19 and of having more severe outcomes from disease due to factors including less ability to self-isolate while in congregate settings (such as shelters) as well as often living with other underlying health conditions. Due to this, we monitor trends among persons experiencing homelessness in Denver and provide additional targeted testing to prevent future COVID-19 outbreaks. Please see the summary below (updated every Monday).
