Denver Community Health Assessments

Denver Public Health and the Department of Public Health and Environment work together to conduct a community health assessment to measure progress toward improving Denver's Health. The city's most recent community health assessment was released in January of 2021. To produce this new online health assessment dashboard, the team:

  • Convened community partners and city stakeholders from across Denver.
  • Surveyed residents to learn more about the key issues facing the health of Denver’s communities.
  • Synthesized those survey findings to shape the six themes of the assessment.
  • Collaborated with mySidewalk to build an online health assessment dashboard.

The current health assessment presents the themes for advancing the health of Denver’s Communities: behavioral health, housing, healthy environments, access to care, community connectedness and stress. Emphasis is placed on understanding the structural drivers that influence how these themes affect each community differently.
