TB Update and Skin Testing Practicum for Nurses
This 4.5 hour course provides nurses with up-to-date clinical knowledge about tuberculosis (TB) infection, disease and skin testing. Upon successfully completing this course and post-test, participants will receive four CNE credits.
Course objectives:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Express an increased and updated knowledge of TB infection and disease
- Explain the different methods, and pros and cons, of testing for TB infection
- Demonstrate skill in placing and reading a TB skin test (TST)
Who should attend:
Nurses working hospitals, home health care agencies, correctional care and other long-term care facilities; occupational health; Civil Surgeon's offices; and local public health agencies.
