TB Update and Skin Testing Practicum for Nurses

This 4.5 hour course provides nurses with up-to-date clinical knowledge about tuberculosis (TB) infection, disease and skin testing. Upon successfully completing this course and post-test, participants will receive four CNE credits.

Course objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Express an increased and updated knowledge of TB infection and disease
  • Explain the different methods, and pros and cons, of testing for TB infection
  • Demonstrate skill in placing and reading a TB skin test (TST)

Who should attend:

Nurses working hospitals, home health care agencies, correctional care and other long-term care facilities; occupational health; Civil Surgeon's offices; and local public health agencies.
