**The Yellow Fever vaccine can be received without a full travel consultation for patients aged 9 months through 59 years. If clinic staff finds that a patient is ineligible for the Yellow Fever vaccine, they will receive the international certificate noting their ineligibility and will be charged a $30 fee for the clinic visit. All patients age 60 or older are required to schedule a travel consultation ($70 fee) to receive the yellow fever vaccine which allows the provider to go through a thorough health history due to the risk factors associated with the vaccine after 60 years of age.

Some medical insurance plans offer coverage for travel-related services, while others do not. Here at the Immunization and Travel Clinic at Denver Health, we do not bill insurance plans for travel-related services. We will provide you with an itemized receipt that you may submit to your insurance plan to seek full or partial reimbursement. Please note, Medicaid does not pay for most travel related services.

Yes, you MUST make a travel consultation appointment if:

  • You need any prescriptions (such as malaria, traveler's diarrhea, or high-altitude sickness.)
  • You are unsure which vaccinations you need for international trips and want to receive travel advice specific to your destination(s).
  • You are over the age of 60 and requesting a Yellow Fever vaccination.

Travel consultation appointments fill up quickly. It is recommended that you make an appointment at least six weeks before your departure.

We are no longer a walk-in clinic and appointments are required for all visits. If you know which vaccines you need for an international trip, and do not require any prescriptions for travel medications, you can make a 20-minute vaccination appointment.

We are an official Yellow Fever Vaccination Center as designated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
